New Qualifications Available

Two new courses are available at Kirklees Community Campus

‘e-type’ – the UK’s only recognised touch typing qualification

e-type is a flexible and fun way to learn how to touch-type. Learners can develop at their own pace without any pressure, and even practise at home or work. e-type is taught through ten structured lessons that follow a simple and logical sequence. There are clear instructions and the lessons are easy to understand and can be done at your own pace. For many it is a way of gaining a recognised touch typing qualification which employers increasingly look for.

Cost: £95

Mentoring Skills and Practice (Level Two)

Do you work, or wish to work, with people on a one-to one basis in the workplace or as a volunteer?

The Kirklees Community Campus Mentoring qualification is designed to help all those who support individuals to progress in their lives and who have the intention of furthering their careers, particularly in the third sector.

This vocational qualification is primarily achieved through work-based learning supported by our tutors with some attendance required for workshops at either of the Kirklees Community Campus training centres (Huddersfield or Batley). These workshops include activities, exercises and discussions to help participants put what they learn into practice.

Course contents include:

· Mentoring Practice and Skills

· Developing Decision-making Skills

· Learning From Volunteering

· Developing Action Plans

Cost: £250 (Discounts on course costs are available dependent on individual circumstances)
