IT Buddy Scheme


The IT Buddy Scheme has been running for four months, we now have well over 50 Kirklees residents receiving IT Tution and mentoring from 12 individuals across the Kirklees District. You can now access free IT Tuition in Paddock (The Village Hall, Huddersfield), The Longwood mechanics Institute (Huddersfield), The Lodge Training Centre (Batley), Thornhill Lees Community Centre (Dewsbury), The Hub (Kirkburton, Hudds), The Denby Dale Centre and Mirfield Library & Information Centre. We are also in dicsussions with other community centres and libraries to roll out the service to more users across the region.

If you do not qualify for the scheme please do not be put off as we are here to help and will advise you on where you can access adult education and skill development. New Courses Starting January 2011

Paddock Village Hall- Level 2 PC Technician

Date - Commencing Monday 10th January 2011*
Time- 9.30am - 3.00pm
*Course runs 2 days a week (Mondays and Wednesdays) for approximately 7 weeks

Paddock Village Hall - Level 2 IT (includes Word processing and spreadsheets)
Date - Tuesday 11th January 2011
Time - 9.30am - 3.00pm (1st session morning only)

Ravensthorpe Community Centre -
Operate a Computer Level 1
Date - Monday 10th January 2011
Time - 9.30am - 12.00pm

Ravensthorpe Community Centre- Level 2 Customer Service Skills
Date - Tuesday 11th 2011
Time - 9.30am - 12.30pm
